Hi, new to the discussion. Mine will be about PIP migrating from DLA.

Did a Mandatory Reconsideration for my PIP Award which took three weeks for the DWP to reply. In consideration I thought that was quick! However, the reply back from DWP looked like they hadn't really bothered with it and just quickly glanced through my MR letter and supporting evidence. No change "what a surprise" thus my support worker and I will be going down the Appeal route:

The way we are doing it is: making an appointment with the local CAB on the 5th of July 2018. You have to do it (it meaning lodging an Appeal) within one month from the date of the reply to your Mandatory Reconsideration letter not the date you happen to get the reply letter by the DWP. So BEWARE everyone of the dates of your reply to your MR letter,  as one month time scale goes very, very quickly. Especially when your stressed and lacking in finance!!! The CAB are benefit specialists and I am taking my support worker with me to the appointment. Folks I know its tempting to give up but get the specialists advice as you would be to angst to do it on your own.... You deserve it...

We were asked to take our reply to the MR letter by the DWP to the CAB and the evidence such as GP letters etc to them (the CAB) on the day. My PIP has been cut greatly so that is why we are appealing after reading the result of the ASSESSORS Report from the Medical assessment and going through the descriptors.

A lot was missing in the report from the ASSESSOR and onwards we go. Will keep you posted as we go through the Appeal process. Remember you can't Appeal until you have done an Mandatory Reconsideration letter forwarding any evidence. You have to wait for the DWP's reply to it which may take a while but mine was only three weeks. Yours in meditation and hope and pure fight from Susan x

I would not rely on the CAB for advice before checking it , they reply on Volunteers and standard fact sheets ,which you can get on the internet,I just don't understand why you said you have to got via them
