i rang the Dwp and a decision was made today on my case. But the person I spoke to would not tell me the outcome. She said a letter had been sent out and I had to wait. is this usually the case that they won't tell you over the phone?

@SkyMary7, as far as I’m aware they won’t tell you over the phone and youl have to wait on the decision letter I’m afraid.
Hopefully the letter will arrive soon. Think it can sometimes take a couple of weeks to arrive

@SkyMary7 I hope you're not waiting too long for the letter! I imagine it is nerve-racking to wait- fingers crossed!

When I rang to enquire about my decision the staff member told me over the phone what the award was and how long it was for before the letter arrived. I think it depends on who's on the other end of the phone or they have changed the rules.

the lady said that the decision was made this morning and a letter had been sent out. But she could not see the decision on her computer as it takes 24hrs to update. So maybe that was it.

More likely the case that she didn't want to enter into a discussion with you over the decision.
