Hi. I'm new on here.
After 4 years of being on ESA (s.g) I stupidly applied for pip 4 months ago.
I'm recovering from 4 individual brain tumour operations Inc a regrowth in 2011.
Basically I scored 0 points on EVERYTHING (in pip report) and still waiting for the d.m to write to me. I got a copy of my assessment 1 month ago.
Esa medical successful in 2014 and put in SG.
Brown letter arrived 2 days ago from DWP wanting a ESA50 re-assessment for WRAG!
I'm absolutely devastated. Suffer panic attacks, severe mental health issues, daily headaches and depression.
Are these people human at all?
I'm struggling to cope right now and any constructive advice/help is appreciated.
Thanks

Hello @helsbells1979 Pleased to meet you welcome. So sorry what has happened I know that the community will be supportive and have care and concern.
First can I add a lot of the community are going through a lot of this. I can and do understand every thing you say.
You have my support if I can advise you need to speak to CAB or welfare rights. Plus one suggestion is to contact your MP. A lot of the information you have told me. Would be beneficial to your local MP knowing.
They are interested in these assessments now and want this sort of information to pressure the Government in changes.
Can I also add you have done nothing wrong. You need benefits to live on. I am myself know that they lie constantly. Understand that you should not blame yourself. It is a cruel, senseless pointless system that is only benefiting these companies.
Unfortunately what has not helped that these companies who are causing a plethora of incidents and stories. This means you are not alone.
If you care to read Talk about PIP and DLA you will see many members of our community like yourself. What has not also helped is the attitude of assessors.
Something to consider is looking at how you can either complain to ATOS whether that is some times worth it . Or my suggestion feel that strongly is to look at welfare rights and look at some legal action.
Have been cases of taking ATOS to court for wrong doing and evident mistakes like yours. In exceptional cases.
One final point do you have support might be worth looking at some support. Look on line for any such support. Mental health and floating support can be helpful. Also consider other options as help like advocates to speak to you. Doctors can be of some use as well. Advising on a range of services to avail yourself.
We are here to help the best we can do I hope I have been helpful Understand please always here to support I hope.
You are not alone hope I can reassure you. Please take care. Am here to listen anytime.

I will make an appointment to see welfare rights and my m.p. I never asked for my illnesses.
I'm on the verge of a breakdown and have had 2 panic attacks since Friday. I can't sleep. Headache constantly0 -
Hello @helsbells1979 Sorry to hear this. Please can I thank you for letting me know what you are going to do.
Please can I offer some reassurance I do not think any of our community ever wanted to be ill, disabled or suffer. Unfortunately this Government the whole systems are in disarray.
Understand why you are not feeling good and how can the community advise. My concern is that you speak to your GP for some thing to help. Whether in form of medications or finding some support.
I wish I could help more and try to do what I can for our community. The most important person is you.
You have been through a lot. I know it is not easy and very difficult to cope. I can and wish if I could can only say.
In my own life have spent a long time recovering from various illness and other issues. So I know you think the society that supposed to help is not. Asking for support and maintaining yourself is the most important thing. Right now is you to say to yourself I need to speak to some one. Speak to some one like Samaritans or Mind or other organisations that can deal with your mental state.
I know that may not be easy sometimes but it is something to consider. I do think that might be answer to support you
Not being patronising here but just a simple person trying support you give you some positivity and encouragement to try to help yourself much as you can.
This is the problem today from a time long a go where every body helped each other and supported and cared. Now unfortunately that has almost gone. Just our community. Members of the community like me who reach out to support others.
Please take care and you will succeed.
Always in prayers and thoughts.

@helsbells1979 I had my PIP last October and got awarded No lies, and yes I got an ESA50 to fill in 6 months after awarded PIP. Also my last ESA SG 2014.
So I'm going through it too all so pointless when they full well know I'm buggered also don't feel like their picking on you because I thought that was the case.
Im sorry you diden't get your PIP.0 -
No wonder people take their own lives. Conservative gov determined to get every disabled person off benefits0

Hello @helsbells1979 I noticed your post what you said. I agree with you. May I add also have a look on line.
I recommend the Disability News . It is a newspaper on line. Saying what is going on benefits, ESA, PIP and the inside story. Government plans, stories schemes.
Also Benefits and works websites. This all what is happening inside DWP and other aspects of the system.
Do not wish to frighten or scaremonger you in any way shape or form. Have looked myself and tells me what is happening in reality.
Thought it might help.

I visited my m.p Andrea Jenkyns at 9am today. Her team are going to support me and contact dwp. Can't get app with welfare rights or my g.p until 9th Aug....esa50 due back 27th.
My god im so run down and exhausted0 -
You have been on ESA - SG for 4 years. Have you had a review of that award?
Normally being in the SG is limited to a max of 3 years. Maybe the ESA50 has been issued under the normal review protocol.
With ESA as with PIP you are required to regularly prove your continued entitlement to that benefit.
I doubt that many would want to see what happened in the past with IB being paid without the DWP asking at some point if things had changed. Same with DLA, many received that benefit for decades without anybody actually questioning if the award was still required.
