I have read so many feeds on the internet to put the frighteners on anyone i went to my face to face review yesterday I was scared of being talked down to scared of nor being believed but when I met the assessor who turned out was a occupational therapist put at ease she was lovely not contrascending or ignorant which I expected she listened to what I had to say which is new to me as to where I initially lived they covered their backs no end she saw first hand just how my body reacts when trying to perform certain tasks my body goes into instinctive overdrive I put my point across as far as I possibly could it's to the dwp now but the assessor was way further from what I had initially imagined him/her to be hope this post helps to calm people's nerves who are about to face their face to face review xxx

    It seems that you had one of the 'good' ones!

    I do hope that this continues through to the right decision being made by the DWP.

    Get you acessment report and see if it is reported as you exspect or perceived it to have been. Personally I have had to PIP acessments both reports where as I expected and the correct award given, hope yours goes the same way.

    Totally agree with wilko. I've never had a bad report or lies told, however that's not the case for everyone. People think it went well and then they get the report. Hopefully your report will be truthful too. Good luck.

    Thank you personally I don't think I will get it I showed her and I told her I can't do much more and as a ot herself she should have more of a understanding of what we face on a daily basis xx

    How come you had to have two assessments if you don't mind me asking?

    Did you send evidence to support your claim? They very rarely contact anyone for this.

    I've had 2 PIP assessments. Been claiming since just after it started in 2013. Lots of people would have had multiple assessments by now because it's rare to have a paper based assessment even for a review.

    Good luck with your claim and hopefully you'll have a decision you're happy with.

    This my first claim from transferring from dla I sent supporting evidence from Wigan doctors where I used to live but one of the specialists contradicted himself multiple times I received a report stating my problems were due to dyspraxia and then I received a referral letter from the same specialist to see a hearing doctor stating please see this woman who has problems due to cerebral palsy I questioned this letter and yet again got told it was dyspraxia I was sent to see a neurologist in 2013 were I was finally given a diagnosis of mild spastic diplegia cerebral palsy I had to fight to finally get a diagnosis I had been sent to pillar to post for fourteen years before I was finally told the truth as a result of no treatment my hands claw and my left leg is very weak and can't withstand my weight so I predominantly use my right I tried to claim for clinical negligence but was refused as I was supposedly told when I was 18 and had gone past limitation period just a joke really but hey no it's people's lives their messing up xx

    I don't want to worry anyone but the Assessor I had at my assessment in May 2016 seemed lovely and very understanding. Unfortunately I got no points and after having to Appeal and getting a copy of my assessment she had blatantly told a few lies. At Appeal I was awarded 6 for care and 12 for Mobility, so don't be too confident you will be fairly assessed just because she seemed nice. I have another assessment on Tuesday for Pip which I am dreading but have no confidence in getting a fair one. Incidentally I had heaps of letters from doctors, consultants, nurses, psychologist and my GP. I honestly wonder if they actually read any of this or just assess you on how you are on the day.

    Thank you Rosie I've already resigned to fact that I'm not going to get it anyway so when I open the dwp envelope I won't be surprised at the outcome x

    At my assessment last week I asked the assessor 'Have the medical professionals been contacted prior to this assessment?' she said 'let me look on the system....No, it doesn't say that anyone has been contacted' .. I also tried to hand over a couple of Xrays/Scans that I had only last month to add to my case and she said 'I don't need to take these'.. So try and provide evidence to send off with your questionnaire beforehand (I couldn't send mine because it took over 4 weeks for my medical records to be sent to me on 3 CDs).

    Yep I have had three - all failures with reports that make the best fiction authors look mediocre
