Im a carer of someone on highest level of PIP.She has a mobility car since last Sept Im her sole carer.mum and her driverWe live in the same house She is not wheelchair bound but has physical and mental disability.I booked a week in a lodge 50 miles away last .Its really so she sees her family and I have time to sort her room which she hardly ever leavesRespite. Warned that using the disability car is for her needs and if I have an accident id have to have a good reason for her not being in the car Feeling anxious and feeling like I need to hire a car ? What shall I do ? Im a pensioner and 150 pounds is a lot to pay for another car plus fuel .Just dont want to fall foul of rules

HI,It's unclear by your post what exactly your plans are. Will you be going with your daughter on this holiday or are you staying at home and you're asking if you can use the car while she's away? If this is correct then because it's her mobility car, you must not use that car unless it's for her sole purpose only. For example, you would be able to go to the shops for her, or any other journey for her if she wasn't with you. If the journey wasn't for her then no you won't be able to use the car. Hope this helps.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
