Hi,No, they very rarely contact anyone for evidence at any stage and the onus is on you to make sure that evidence is sent to support your claim.Waiting times vary depending on backlog in your area. Some wait weeks while others wait months.0

Originally PIP was set up to get round this evidence problem. It was intentional that the claimant should only be asked to send in what evidence they had to hand. The claimant was not required to obtain anything that they already did not have at home AND they should not pay for any evidence.
The onus was put on the assessor to apply for evidence. This was a change from how DLA worked. With DLA the best results came if you could provide the best evidence - money talked so to speak. PIP was set up to get rid of this and make it a level playing field for all.
However bit by bit this has been turned on its head in that the claimant is to substantiate the claim with evidence even if they have to pay for it.
They argue that if you want an award then it's your responsibility to prove why you should get it.

I have my physio report , so I need my doctors report is it just a matter of phoning up the GP asking for my medical history since my stroke or do the doctor Do a letter0

Asking for copies of your medical history takes time, this isn't something that can be done in a day. You can certainly ask your GP for a letter to support your claim but a lot of GPs refuse to write letters now. Those that will agree will most likely charge you a fee for writing the letter.
