Hi
I was awarded the high care component in May 2016 for my MH.
The descriptor for MH was not available back then.
I have had my renewal in May 2018 and was awarded the low amount of Motability.
My support worker sent in a MD as my condition is severe unless I have someone with me.
They changed the decision and awarded me the higher rate of Motability.
Am I allowed to ask for them to back date the Motability?
I have seen in articles they are meant to backdate due to the discrimination case that happened in the High court last year.
Could anyone please advise?
Many thanks in advance

Hi @charly7645,
Great to hear that the mandatory reconsideration was successful!
In terms of backdated pay, you will receive all outstanding pay up until the date the original decision was made. You may also wish to contact the hotline for ongoing PIP claims on 0800 121 4433 for more information.
I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, then do let us know!Liam
