Just to let you all know that after a year and a half and my tribunal being adjourned in April to obtain medical records. I'm pleased to say I had my tribunal today and I got an award. It was really hard going through all the waiting ect.... really impacted on my mental health but please don't give up!! If I can do it then so too can you!!
Thank you to those who offered me advice in my time of need.

    Hi @JustJan

Thanks for letting us know, about the good outcome of your PIP appeal.

This will give encouragement and hope to members of the community, going through the PIP process.

You can now relax and concentrate on things that are important to you.

    Best wishes

@o5jessica the only advice I can give is until you get an actual date, just put it out of your mind. I know this is really hard but you will drive yourself crazy if you don't.
On the day you are asked alot of questions about how your illness affects your day to day life. It's best to have the law centre or cab to help you.

Just gathering some views from claimants. Given your success how would you feel if you had to go through what you have so far every other year for the lifetime of your claim?

No it took 5 months for a new date after they adjourned it to obtain medical records. The records took about 5 weeks to come through. When they receive them, they put you on the list for tribunal.

That's how I thought after the first one in 2013. After the third assessment in 2017 I lost all ability to fight it another time. I just gave up. I presume that you could possibly feel the same.

Started my first in 2013 just after my 65th birthday. Face to face assessments took place every other year (3 year awards) - 2015 & 2017

@Yadnad so they awarded it you for 3 years but kept assessing every other year? This is so terrible!

Not just terrible - quite normal for a three year award which is reviewed every 24 months. Three year awards are by and large the normal length given.

That's why I gave up with the system. 70 now and the thought of these re-assessments/appeals etc until I die was too much to accept.

I'm so sorry. My heart goes out to you after all that happening. Thank you for the warning.I've been awarded it for 6 years but I guess that doesn't mean much from what you say.
