Hi @Rs13
Welcome to the community! How can we help?Disability Gamechanger - 2019 -
Thanks for the replies. I have been in and out of care homeless still and the council won't help me. I'm so confused I need a permanent stable environment due to not only my medical need but my mother's too cos she has issues too. What is my borough duty of care to me please?

Hi @Rs13 and welcome to the community! I am sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately Scope do not specialise in housing but I hope the community can continue to offer you advice. I will move your discussion to the housing section. Have you contacted Shelter? They may be able to provide support Wishing you all the best and please do let us know how you get on!

Hi,Unfortunately when it comes to social housing it's not as simple as just giving a house to someone, even if they have disabilities. In most areas all over the country there's huge waiting lists and for those without children, it's even longer. Most councils will advise you to look at the private rental sector and that's just as difficult. Most areas even for privately rented the landlords won't accept those claiming benefits. The ones that will ask for a guarantor. Are you able to live with your mother?I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
