No PIP for me

I suffer from Cardio Vascular Disease, type 2 diabetes, nueropathy in both feet, anxiety disorder and depression. Guess what? No pips for me as apparently I don't fit their criteria. The fact I'm only able to take paracetamol for pain relief because of my heart meds means I don't need pain killers. I attended the interview alone means I can make my own way to places and cope (What these ******** fail to realise is it took over 12 months of people badgering me in to applying, a lift had to be arranged for me to get there as I didn't know how to on my own and if it hadn't been necessary I wouldn't have botherd.) Oh yes, I was clean and was presentable as well, as though I was supposed to turn up dressed like a tramp and smelling of ****. I hope the ******* burn or even better are struck down by illness and receive no assistance so they can see what it's like to feel worthless.

Hello @LesCorlett Pleased to meet you welcome.

Thank you for joining and sharing.  Sorry what has happened.   I can feel in your post your angry and upset. Have you appealed.?

Have a look at our information on Talk about PIP . Might be useful to look at.

Have you spoken to CAB about your situation. Can advise and give you support.  Help with appeals process. Plus expertise and knowledge..

We are a supportive friendly community. Care and share. Plenty of information, advice and support from members.

    Hope that helps.

    Please take care

Hi @LesCorlett, and a warm welcome to the community! It's great to have you here.

I'm so sorry to hear about your PIP decision, it must have been really frustrating for you to hear that outcome. Unfortunately, I'm sure many of our members will be able to relate to your experiences.

Do feel free to continue posting and updating us. However, as we'd like the community to be a safe and supportive place, we'd be grateful if you could mind your language and use of expletives and ensure your thoughts are presented tactfully, especially as we have younger members on the forums too!

Are you considering appealing the decision? Just let us know if we can be of any assistance.

Really sorry to hear of your experience. I had a very similar reply because I was clean and tidy, because I seemed orientated and alert. Because i saw you walk 5 metres you can walk 250 metres, because I'm not under a specialist or taking tons of meds I don't fit. It makes you feel really angry and bitter. Just one more person that doesn't believe you. My ad vice would be to look up all the online resources on pip claims they usually have a template letter include everything that's relevant and ask for a mandatory reconsideration. Goodluck

I won't be appealing as I don't see the point anymore. This is the second time theyve turned me down and i cant go through it again. I've had to book in with my GP as my anxiety and depression have kicked off again. Which for me isn't a good thing as the last time it happened I locked my self away for a couple of years. If I have to lie in order to get anywhere with them then I'd rather not bother.

I understand, I really do and I wasn't suggesting that you lie. I'm glad you are going back to your GP. He may well have the number of someone that can help you. DWP have made this benefit extremely difficult to claim by the very people it's aimed at. It feels to me as though they are almost saying if you are sane and well enough to claim then you don't need it. But some very helpful people on here have made me realise, that they work in a very narrow way and you need to see the 'descriptors and point scores to be able to write down what is relevant within their criteria. Do you have any support available to you? Please take care of yourself there are people who care and you are not alone. X
