Pip tribunal adjourned

hi everyone. I was meant to have my pip tribunal hearing this morning but when I arrived at the court house I was told it was being adjourned as they didn’t have enough medical evidence. My GP had only sent a small amount of my medical notes along prior.
My problem is the conditions I have with very limited power in both my wrists has been ongoing for over 20 years with my left wrist and over 5 years with my right wrist. As this is the case I don’t see my GP often as there’s nothing more than can be done to help me or ‘cure me’ as such.
I also have epilepsy which was controlled for roughly 10 years and I was discharged from my specialist though I did start having seizures again in December 2017 and my GP referred me to the specialist again but I’m still awaiting that appointment. I had been advised by the GP that I didn’t need to let them know every time I have had a seizure since and just to keep a seizure diary which I have been doing to this very day.
My concern is is lack of medical evidence going to go against me even though my conditions are ongoing as years
I now have to wait for another appeal date coming through so the stress is causing even more problems in my life. Thought it would be all done and dusted today but no such luck

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this @Sob98, it must have been so frustrating to only find that out once you'd already turned up.

Hopefully some of our members will be able to share some practical advice. I wonder if there's anything @Gill_Scope can add?

Thank you @Pippa_Scope. Was very disappointed to reach the courts this morning and find out it was being adjourned despite me ringing this morning to see if it was all going ahead which I was told it was. Such a stressful time but not a lot I can do. I’ve contacted my mla for assistance as I didn’t previously have any so hoping this helps as well

You don't need medical evidence to support a PIP claim, unless the medical evidence states how your conditions affect you and proves those descriptors apply, it may not be of much use. When you started having seizures again in December 2017 was this before or after the PIP decision? Any worsening of condition after a decision can't be taken into consideration by the Tribunal. They can only take into consideration what your condition was like at the time of the original decision.

Sorry for the late input from me (very short-staffed at the Scope Helpline where I work at present).

Really sorry to read about your frustrating tribunal hearing. I realise it's little consolation but at least the panel want more evidence rather than saying, for example, that you're not entitled to this benefit. Hang on in there Sob98, you may get the decision you need. Well over 2/3rds of appellants win their appeals.

Thank you so much @Gill_Scope and @Username_removed still no word of a new date for my tribunal. Spoke with the appeals service today and they said it could be months however the chair of the tribunal said about 6 weeks. My mla is hopefully going to help me as a representative for this new tribunal whenever it may that place. I feel as though I deserve at least low rate in both care and mobility and had 4 points of both after my f2f home visit and mandatory reconsideration. Unfortunately it seems to be just a waiting game now
