Post Polio and the common cold

Postpolio people. Wondering if anyone else has trouble coping with the common cold.   I'm sure they weren't such a big deal before PPS struck. Feel such a wuss but muscles feel like rocks and although I know it's just a cold, feels more like flu.

    Hi @ellebelle
Welcome to the community! Sorry to hear you're not well :(  I am sure there are a few members with PPS who will get in contact with you soon. Hope you feel better soon! :)

    Hi @ellebelle,

How are you feeling? I hope you're feeling a bit better.

Have you spoken to your GP about this and asked for some advice?

Hi.  I gave up years ago asking for advice from GPs re problems with PPS.   They have had no training in this field because there aren't too many of us left.  I do feel slightly better today, thanks for asking.

Hi @ellebelle,      I too have PPS but have never made a connection with the common cold or even with a severe bout of flu last year. Maybe we're just getting older!

Good point that most [99.5% at least] of our GPs have no knowledge of polio. That was made clear to me about 5 years ago when hospitalized with a totally unconnected condition....a very young Asian trainee doctor picked up that I had had polio in 1950.  Our local specialists simply hadn't a clue.

    Hope you get well soon.

    Best wishes.

Thank you.  I saw a neurologist a few years back and he told me he had only had a half day training on pps.
