Hello, I have just joined and  would appreciate advice  on the following matter. I have recently had a hip replacement op due to cancer in the bone and have primary cancer somewhere betwean my throat and anus. I have been unable to work since 03/03/18 and have been recieving SSP. Now I have to start claiming ESA.  I am 62 yrs old and am unlikely to return to work before I retire. My question is should I resign and recieve my holiday pay and would that affect my ESA payment/entitlement ?

Thank you Tilly, I had a Work Capability Assessment which concluded that I was unfit for work of any kind. This was through Universal Credit, they also awarded me extra money which I wasn`t expecting. It had not occured to me to ask my Doctor. Thank you once more for your advice. I hope you are as well as you can be and remaining positive ! Kind Regards Yanis

    Hi,

If you’re receiving UC then any holiday pay you receive will affect the amount of UC you receive that month.
