I’m the mum of a 14 year old boy who has ADHD, ODD and ASD. I am a children’s nurse by profession but have just left my job in the hope that I can become a foster carer.

Thank you thank you both so much.
Im wondering if anyone has had to appeal against a DLA decision? My son was getting high rate care and low rate mobility but I have just had to make a new claim, as I had not got my renewal form back in time due to moving, and now they have only awarded him lower rate care and no mobility.
He currently does not arttend school, he doesn’t sleep, he constantly wants me by his side.... suffers severe anxiety and social phobia, is 14 and sometimes still sleeps in my bed when he has meltdowns.
I have asked for a mandatory reconsideration but they have come back saying the same. I have supplied evidence from CAMHS, school, my old work (I’ve left due to the constant phone calls asking me to come and get him or he’s going to kill him self) and his EHCP.
I would really appreciate any help my help or advice from anyone who’s taken DLA to tribunal. How long does it take? I am going to contact Citizens advice today.
many thanks for your comments
