Hi @kazz291 welcome to the community!

I know most benefits can only be backdated from when you make a claim.

    Hi,

Universal Credit can be backdated for 3 months. Unfortunately, you will not be able to backdate your claim for 4 years.

Do you receive carers allowance for looking after your mum? Do you work as well as look after your mum? What benefits, if any do you receive?
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
