Do PIP and ESA get backdated?

Does pip claim get backdated to when my illness began, I have copd dating back to 2008

Unfortunately no, PIP is only backdated from when you first put in a claim.Disability Gamechanger - 2019 -

Is pip different to esa, im currently on esa, was wondering if my emphysema would be classed under pip, im sorry for being so vague, not very sure how all this works, would i be better letting cab deal with it, well advice me on the whole issue

PIP is different to ESA yes. People claim PIP and work. PIP is about how your conditions affect you and not a diagnosis. http://www.mybenefitsandwork.co.uk/pip/indexxx.php
