Hello,
I've applied to a few of Tesco delivery driver jobs a couple of weeks ago;
2 days ago, someone rang me with a mobile number, I text back asking who is it.
They replied 'tesco recruitment' 3 hours later, I texted back immediately saying that sorry, I am deaf, could you contact me via email or text as mentioned on the application that I am hearing impaired etc.
Then that was it, no reply. I text again yesterday morning, asking what's the update and hope my deafness do not deter them to recruiting me.
Still no reply nor hear anything from them for over 48 hours.
I know I might be blow this out of proportion but surely they did text me 'tesco recruitment' so they do have a method to contact me.
Is this discrimination as they are avoiding me?
Cheers

Hello @TrumpBoy
Im sorry to hear you are having trouble getting Tesco to contact you again. It is possible that they will still contact you within the next day or so.
Tesco is a 'Positive about Disabled People' Employer and they aim to interview any disabled person who meets the minimum criteria for a job vacancy, so I would be very disappointed if they were avoiding getting back to you because of your impairment.
Here is a bit about Tesco and where they stand with disabled applicants and employees:

Perhaps you could email the Resourcing Team then they can look into it for you? This is their email address: resourcing.team@uk.tesco.com
Thanks,
Ren

Hi @TrumpBoyI have had similar experiences with employment agencies in the past. The agency loves my CV and I have relevant experience etc. When I show up for the face to face interview in my wheelchair, the job is gone.Try not to be discouraged keep going!
