edited November 2018 in Benefits and income
hi my husband has Aspergers and works in a airport doing 12 hour shifts . He had a break down in January and had been on reduced hours since May . They have told them today he has to go back to work 12 hours shifts or go jobshare ( losing half his wages of £10.000)
He needs to decide by next Friday
would he be able to claim anything because it’s the Aspergers that makes it impossible to work the shifts and changes that are making it so hard for him
many thanks

Hello @amsterdam62 Pleased to meet you welcome.

Thank you for joining and sharing.

Sorry what has happened . No one should be able to suffer like this because of their disability.  We have a lot of useful information about  reasonable adjustments in the workplace.

    On our website.

As for claiming anything.  Have a look at our on line benefit checker.  It is a handy tool which gives you some idea of what to claim.

Have a look also at what benefits you may be entitled to .  Find out more information about benefits on our website.

Please can I add speak to CAB something to consider regarding benefit enquiries.

Please can I also suggest speak to The National Autistic Society.  Helpline 020 7833 2299.

They have a lot of information and support on their website and worth having a look.

    Which could be useful.

    Hope that helps.

We are a friendly, supportive community.  Please ask if we can advise. Some one will know.

    Please take care
