Told I don't need to attend assessment, what happens next?

Hi, Would anyone be able to help me please. I received a letter in the post to go for a limited capability assessment. My doctor was late sending in the form they asked her to fill out. Once they had received it they then sent me a letter saying I do not have to attend the assessment now hurrah. But I'm a bit confused as to what happens next.. Can you still only be accepted for lwc if not asked to attend the assessment?  Any advice would be much appreciated thanks

You can't be found fit for work without a face to face assessment but you can be placed into either group.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Most likely because they had enough evidence to do a paper based assessment. It's rare but it can and does happen.
You can request the assessment report to be sent to you. They mostly go with the report, so it will give you some idea what the decision is likely to be. Other than that, i'm afraid there's nothing more you can do but wait for the decision.

    verify_1,
Don't worry, this is something which does happen (in fact I've had quite a few clients this happens too). You can be granted LCW or LCWRA without having to go to an assessment, as Poppy says. The assessor may have decided that they had enough information from your form and from your GP.

You should get a decision soon which will be applied to your UC. If you in the LCWRA group you won't have to do anything and should get quite a bit of extra money. If you have LCW only then you have to attend work-focused interviews & take part in work-related activity, but you don't have to look for work.

You can be found fit for work without a face to face assessment, but that would be very unusual (for example if you indicated that you had no problems with any of the activities when you completed the form).
