Hello I am new. I have connected to the community because I am unaware of my rights. I do have a disability which is a condition of hearing voices. I don't know completely what it is. There has been no firm diagnosis. I am currently trying to get my life back on track. It is difficult. I am financially struggling and I am still unwell but I have lost a lot of my independence since I've been unwell. It is difficult to recover that. I am searching for housing closer to where there is more support for me. I am also waiting on benefit claims for sickness disability. It is difficult as I am sick now and they won't grant me anything there even though my doctor has provided me with sick notes. I have to wait I don't know how many months for it to come through. I have to get assessed by their people but the doctor has already checked me. To me it makes no sense.

Much love,

Charlotte

    Hello Charlotte, and much love to you too. Welcome to the Scope Community.  There is not a lot I can say that will immediately help you, so I am tagging in our Mental Health Advisor @RebeccaMHadvisor and would expect that she would get back to you soon.
    Please bear with us and keep in touch.
    Have you come across the Hearing Voices Network? They're here, if you haven't and would like to have a look.
    Has your doctor referred you to any kind so specialist, by the way? I would think that getting a fairly firm diagnosis would be an important step.
    Please don't hesitate to be in touch, even if you just need to chat or to rant. We are here for you, and you matter.
    Warmest best wishes,
    @JennysDad

    Hi @charsytwinkle, and a warm welcome to the community!

    Thanks for sharing this with us. I'm sorry to hear about what you've been dealing with, it must have been really frustrating to have to try and arrange support whilst coping with everything else.

    Just to clarify, have you already applied for any disability benefits or had a decision from them?
