Hi everyone sorry it's late, not expecting a reply til a more convenient hour :)

I am my son's appointee, we won at a tribunal 20th November and should be receiving a back pay from 11 October 2017.

When my son's pip was originally awarded 0 points it meant the child tax credits reduced as they took away the disability premium we was receiving.

I was wondering if Tax credits back date also? I tried calling them Friday but it was busy and I gave up after 40 minutes.

Thank you in advance x

Great news. Yes, they will be backdated to the start of the PIP award but backdated payments for tax credits can take 8-12 weeks. That's how long it took them to back date my tax credits payments when my daughter first claimed PIP last year.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

@poppy123456 thank you for your reply! I was not expecting one at this hour ?.

That is great thank you. When I notified tax credits last October about the PIP saga, they some how managed to say they had over paid us by £ 1000 and reduced my child tax to 56.00 per 4 weeks for 2 children! So I am pleased by this news. We have struggled greatly for over a year. Fingers crossed for a better 2019.

    Than you once again.

Hi pllfan88                                  congratulations in winning your son's PIP back. I was owed tax credits and it took only 2 weeks to receive it into my account so fingers crossed you may receive it sooner than later.

You will need to wait for the letter from DWP before contacting HMRC about the Tribunal decision, no point contacting them before this.

Yes thank you both, I will wait before contacting HMRC after all we've waited long enough, another few weeks won't hurt.
