Hi all,
My wife has been recently diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmantosa. She has a de-novo insertion in the prpf31 gene, which means it's an autosomal dominant form of RP.
She is also pregnant (fifth month). We want to make sure that during the childbirth there won't be any more escalation with the disease progress.
Does anyone know or have more info about the influence of childbirth on the progression of Retinitis Pigmentosa (due to the severe pain and pressure)?
If there is, can we solve it by doing C-section?
thank you in advance.

Welcome to the community @nayshool
Thank you for sharing this with us. Some of our members may be able to offer some advice but I think it will be better to seek medical advice first. Has her Doctor suggested what might be best?

Not yet. We will ask out a physician, but I thought that people might have some insights or experience with this such situation.
