    Hi,

That will depend on your circumstances. Do you live alone or classed as living alone and does anyone claim carers allowance for looking after you?
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Not on the savings part. Being in receipt of those benefits will increase the appropriate amount that you need to live on .but then that depends on who else lives in the home and what benefits they get.

    baggeera,
To get the savings credit of pension credit depends on lots of circumstances, including you, and your partner if you live with one, being over 65 before 6 April 2016 (or having a partner over 65 on that date and already getting savings credit since that time). You have to have qualifying income which is over the savings credit threshold, but not so much to produce a nil result. If you're already getting it, and there's a change in the award of disability benefits, then it is possible that could change your savings credit, but the calculation is complicated and also depends on what other income you have.

The main thing to do here is to make sure that pension credit know about your PIP/DLA award if they don't already. It's possible your disability benefit could alter your pension credit calculation (the guarantee credit part), and that in turn can have an effect on the savings credit calculation. However, as Yadnad and Poppy have explained, you'd need to live alone (or be living only with a partner who also got disability benefits) and not have anyone getting carer's allowance or the carer's element of universal credit for you, in order to get the extra amount in your guarantee credit calculation.

You can check your pension credit amount here.
