Court hearing tomorrow

Hi, it's been a year since my car went back and I was put on the lower rate after a assessor told lies on her report. Welfare rights have all my info so I rang them after I received a letter last week saying my court date was 12th March. I was told the woman who was dealing with my case was off sick and they only found my paperwork on Friday. A new person has now looked through the paperwork and she is coming with me tomorrow. I am afraid that she hasn't had time to read it all. Anyway wish me good luck and I will let you all have the full story tomorrow. Any advise would be grateful. Steve

    Hi @ste350
Good luck and just be yourself.Tell it as it is and try to give examples of how everyday complications arise.

Thank you, my wife has written various accounts where I find difficulties, These have been passed on to the courts. I can't understand the 20 metre walking. Most disabled car park spaces are more than 20 metre away from the shop so are they trying to get rid of anyone who can walk into a shop? I sit in the car park while my wife shops and I have now started watching disabled people. I feel very frustrated as many walk normally and I have seen people run back to their cars having no problems with mobility. I feel I am being vindicated as I am terrible pain and I have evidence to show this. It seems no one will listen to me. Sorry for going on but I am scared that no one at the courts will believe me. Hi Steven

PIP is awarded on how you are affected for the majority of time, some people may be able to walk more than 20 metres 1 or 2 days a week  and the rest of the time be exhausted from that effort. There are also hidden disabilities that would qualify a claimant for mobility so we try not to judge on appearance.

The tribunal is an independant panel who will ask you questions, some times it seems more like an inquisition, to determine how your functionality and mobility is affected. We do hear stories of poor tribunals but in the main they are only interested in the truth

Hello @ste350   Wish all the best for your court hearing.

Hope you get the outcome you justly deserve.

I think what is important give honest accounts of how you are every day.  Doing the descriptors what they ask for in the form.

Please do apologise for going on. This is what we are here for.

Have a look at our website benefit information and advice.  If that helps you.  On PIP for additional support.

I do understand having lost my car myself last year.  Made the choice not to appeal too much.

Also to give you reassurance thought be not OK with out one. Honest truth. Use taxis do a lot on line shopping and yes am disabled and with mental health problems but thought.

    Only a car.

All I am saying.  Other options and choices out there.

    Please take care.

After a very long worrying year, the court hearing was at 2.00 pm today. My assessor who told lies lost and I won. It wasn't about the car, it was about my condition and the lies that some of these so called professionals tell. Turns out my assessor was a "information specialist" and a liar.
