I care for my wife who has progressive m.s
I would like to protect her future needs but find that this seems difficult .any advice would be appreciated thanks

Carers UK may be able to offer you some advice:
"You can email us or contact us and we will respond to your enquiries within 10 working days, although it can often be sooner. Our telephone helpline providing information is open on Mondays and Tuesday between 10am and 4pm - 0808 808 7777."
Your local CAB may support you with this too, our members may have other suggestions. Please keep us updated or let us know if you have any questions.
