I am in the process of appealing against the reconsideration notice. At the assessment which lasted no more than 20-25 minutes, the HCP awarded me Zero points for daily living and zero points for mobility. I have a serious walking problem and can only walk a short distance with the help of an Aid. When going out I always use a wheelchair. I also wear a hearing aid on the right ear. I suffer from depression and under the practice nurse at the G.P surgery. I take two types of medication for mental health and depression. When I went for the assessment, I went in a wheelchair. No activities were done or asked to do. The HCP report was totally contrary to what was asked and her summary report. Maybe someone can help with this. Would it be wise to challenge the HCP report with the appeal submission paper or mention at the appeal hearing? To the contrary should I ignore it if no positive outcome would be achieved by doing this?

The Tribunal won't be interested in any lies told in the report. They will only be interested in which descriptors apply to you and why.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Many thanks for your advice. I will concentrate on explaining my condition and how it affects me.

Still not sure if wise or not, but I actually did bring this up in my appeal and appeal paperwork. The tribunal panel acknowledged this and actually said (at the hearing) that they were aware of widespread issues and discrepancies within assessor reports by HCPs. I assume they meant nationwide as many people find the assessors have lied. However, in the paperwork I simply highlighted statements in the report that were false. Ie highlighting "goes out 6 times a week on her own" and stating that I actually leave the house once a week, accompanied.

Sorry also meant to say that I won my appeal!

Thanks again for mentioning that. I will certainly highlight the discrepancies. In actual fact the whole report is flawed.
