I'd like a little advice if possible please.
My 19 yr old son is due to start a traineeship soon hopefully in a car mechanical setting and is having to do interviews.
He has mild Autism and anxiety which on the whole is well controlled.
So far he hasn't told anyone.
Do you think it's something they should be made aware of.
He's really not sure and I don't want to advise him wrongly.
Thankyou

Hi @saffire99 this is a really tricky decision to make for both you and your son. It might be worth giving us a call at Support to Work to discuss this in a bit more detail. Ultimately it is your son's decision and nobody else's business but in considering reasonable adjustments and being realistic about how mild ASC and anxiety may impact on your son's progress, it could be a good idea to let management know. You can call us on 0300 222 5742 or drop us an email at

Hoping this works out well for you both.
