Carers Allowance Payments

My husband has been getting carers Allowance for a couple of years. It was always paid in time. He has a part time job working under the allowed threshold.
At Christmas he had to cover extra shifts when a colleague lost one of their parents and needed the time off. For four weeks around Christmas he earned above the threshold and with the Christmas holidays he forgot to tell the DWP.
In March they wrote to say his payments had stopped he was being classed as an irregular earner. He had to provide payslips all showing he has been earning below the threshold apart from the period around Christmas.
They are now paying him every eight weeks and for eight weeks he has to provide payslips to DWP.
He is struggling to cope financially and in providing for my care purchases.
He is however paying back the money he was given for Christmas weeks.
Any suggestions how we get them to go back to previous four weekly payments?

Hello @raw_salford, it might be worth him giving them a call and explaining the eight-weekly payments are putting him in financial hardship.
You might also want to speak with CarersUK who might be able to offer more help with this.Community Manager

Hi @raw_salford were you able to get in touch with them and get the right weekly changed?

I’m still waiting for them to review my data and decide in the meantime I have to do another cycle of data collection / payslips being sent to them
