Portable hoist needed for their Manchester wedding ceremony ( 22June 2019)  Finances are very tight for this lovely couple so can anyone help with information about borrowing a hoist - are there any charities that will lend one for a day?

Thank you Emma ... I can see why you are a community champion ? meanwhile somebody said Red Cross in Heaton Moor can help.  But as far as I know their lovely volunteers  have a stock of wheel chairs.  But I can message them too. In case anyone wants to know I think they are only there on Fridays.

Hi @Angela36 welcome to the community! I apologise for my delay in replying, I have been trying to search if there are any available to borrow. Unfortunately, no avail.

Ii understand finances are tight however the cheapest i have found are from Mobility Hire - the minimum time you can borrow their equipment is 1 week, however it is worth giving them a call to see if its feasible :)

    Hello @Angela36
I have found Disability Hoist Hire UK
Based in Manchester. I would contact them and negotiate on the price.

Thank you to everyone.  The happy date for Tim and Annemarie is 22 June.  I hope to post a photo of them sometime after that. :)

Hmm, Richard_scope ... Just had a scary thought, If this guy should not pull through it could wreck such an important day - i might be useful to have a backup plan ?  How would you feel about seeing if you can negotiate with Disability Hoist Hire ?

@Angela36 I have contacted Disability Hoist Hire UK to ask if they would hire for the day. I have told them it would be good PR!

This is the response I have received @Angela36

    "Hi Richard,

    Many thanks for your email.

We would definitely be able to drop the hoist off, and pick back up after the wedding has taken place.

This would however, still be at our  monthly rental cost.

Please let me know if you wish to proceed?

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

    Kind regards,"

Thank you Richard.  I’m going to say no to that because it will only be needed for a few hours at the most so a month hire seems over the top. ?

They would still charge for the month. So, I declined.
