Working with a broken thumb

im on universal credit and broke my thumb got signed off till 2nd june but was told by work coach to find a job and apply for 2 one in retail and one in admin, bearing in mind that i am a door supervisor i had to assist a drunk person off the floor and re cracked the break in my thumb due to working is there a law against them getting me to work with a broken thumb

Hi,Unfortunately no, there's no law against this. A sick/fit note for UC doesn't automatically entitle you to limited capability for work. You'll still have to meet your claimant commitment requirements and if you don't then it's very likely you'll be sanctioned.1
