Would he need to update pip on his chronic pain in his back?

Hi there i was woundering my boyfriend has chronic back pain,its in his shoulders witch is making him lose feeling in his arms and hands. He has ware and tear at the bottom of his spine witch is causing pain into his legs. Hes is reciving pip just now but would he need to update pip on his chronic pain in his back?
