Can I cancel my tribunal at the last minute

Hi everyone,, Sorry I haven’t been active for a long time . I am just enquiring about what will happen to me if I don’t go to court for my appeal. I have had too many sleepless nights about it and am sorry I appealed .I was awarded the care component and low mobility, so my car was taken. I have been reading up a lot about the appeal and the opinion seems to be I am lucky to have been awarded something and am terrified that they will take my award I already have. Can I write and tell the judge I no longer want to appeal as it is making me ill . By the way it’s tomorrow ???

    You have left it late. If you can attend then it would be in your best interest. If the judge feels that your current award is unsafe then he should advise you so and  give you the opportunity to withdraw your appeal.
    Reading on the internet forums is not the most reliable source of information, around 70% of appeals are succesful when the claimant appears in person to answer any questions. There is nothing lucky about needing to claim benefits and the correct level of benefit is based on each individual.

    It is of course your decision whether to attend or not I wish you the best what ever you decide to do

    We really do mostly hear about the claims that have gone wrong, many claims are awarded fairly and with little drama. The panel is simple a judge, a doctor and a disability specialist and not the monsters that you sometimes read about. They simple want to find out the facts about how your condition affects you in terms of the descriptors. If there is anything unclear from your evidence they will ask questions, just tell the truth from your point of view, you are the expert  on this

    Hi,

    There's really no risk in you attending, as CR has said if they plan on taking your existing award award they will warn you and then you have the chance to take your existing award or carry on.

    You've most likely waited a very long time for your hearing date because the backlogs are huge. As it's tomorrow then i would certainly attend. Do you have anyone that can go with you for support?
    I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
    If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

    @Dumpling Sorry for the late response. Yes I attended after a talk with my local Dial house. I won my appeal, waiting to see if the Dwp appeal it . xx
