Opening front door - disability aid

Can anyone advise whether there is a product or a DIY fix that they have used on an external fire door with a spring closure to help a disabled person open and get through the door? My mother can't now get through her front door in her retirement development due to the strength of the spring closure so she can't hold it open and get through it without it pushing her over.

    Some closure springs can be adjusted or try a door wedge on a string
