Hi @robinhood8
reading is about decoding and recoding the visual notation of speech, or the graphic symbols society chooses to represent the sounds of speech.
Reading requires multisensory integration between the brains auditory and visual processing systems in order to perform the task of reading. And some of us may have poor visual or auditory processing skills and abilities which can cause issues performing. the reading task, and some have severe auditory and or visual processing disorders which are the underlying causes of developmental dyslexia, added to which some may also have some attention issues.
Writing is about reproducing or using the visual notation of speech, which can have problems related to both visual and auditory processing disorders and also some motor issues which can be part of Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD).
which means that those of us who may have one of these disabilities may require various types of support and help reading reading and writing.
I have auditory processing disorder which is the underlying cause of my dyslexia symptom.
