Plans for the weekend?

What does everyone have planned for the weekend?

My eldest is getting back from a school trip in the early hours of Saturday morning and I’ll have to wait up to go collect her, so I think Saturday will be as quiet as I can make it while we all catch up on sleep!

What does everyone else have planned?

Hello @Adrian_Scope    Thank you for asking. Have a ritual every weekend.

Mine is listening to Sounds of the Sixties.   Radio 2 starts at 6am to 8am .

    Memories and stories.

Foodie films on TV .  With my note pad and idea head on.  Adapting new recipes.  Change many of them.  Find some so complicated.

Have a chat see what is on here supporting every one . Any messages from friends.

Good breakfast. Always a grill.    Kitchen tidy up look at TV anything to inspire and give me some education, knowledge

Usual look at Talking Pictures the afternoon film..

    Come back on here later.

Prepare soup for Sunday. Do Italian Chicken Pasta and Bean Soup make a start. Plus anything Sauces for the week.

    Saves time.

By late evening making meal for Saturday . Any thing TV.  Not a lot then Soul Saturday put my Northern Soul music on.

Quiet time reflection some meditation and bed time prayers to friends whom I care about.

Sunday  Up early after prayers listen to Classic FM while on here to catch up . Anything needs a response.  Friends and messages.

Sunday Grill and watching any foodie films.  Same ideas anything I can use.  Usual tidy up. Love to have a sweep does help.

Quiet reflection and anything to look at TV.

Making food for the week continuing.  Look at the weeks menu anything to plan or need for the fridge.

Anything diary to plan ahead appointments etc.

Evening meal Soup sandwich anything to listen to music or watch.  Early bed time. Prayers and rest.

I hope that is enough for you to consider.  Might be other things but usually that is it.

    You did ask .

    Take care.

I'm going out on Sunday test driving a car. The dealers are very kindly giving me use of the car for 6 hours so planning on taking my daughter out for a few hours. Not something we do very often but making an effort this weekend. I hope the weather is kind to us.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

We are planning a church picnic on Sunday. Tomorrow I’ll take the kids to a local pub for our annual Father’s Day meal. I may also do some gardening and housework with the kids too.

At the moment it looks like I am working from home this weekend.

As an individual I stood alone.
As a member of a group I did things.
As part of a community I helped to create change!

For the last few years, when my health allows I teach young adults and married couples a range of basic DIY skills.
I have always worked with my hands but can no longer sustain the effort, so rather than waste the skills of a lifetime I try to pass them on to some of the local younger generations.
From basic mechanics and car repair, woodwork and carpentry, brick laying, home decorating and how to use a sewing machine or wire a plug. I also do wood turning and decorative flocking.
The new workshop is for basic metal work, simple welding, car bodywork and spraying and cold forge metal work to make things like scroll brackets or clock surrounds up to gates, balastrades and furniture by twisting, bending and rolling and riveting
Be all you can be, make  every day count. Namaste

Not up too much this weekend.  Some housework and a trip to the supermarket, the usual for a Saturday.  Its the gala day in the village where we live tomorrow so may toddle off to that to watch the procession and see the stalls.  Hopefully the weather will stay nice for it.   Just watch some TV at night and play with the cat - lol!  On the Sunday will visit my parents for Father's Day.

    Hi

Its a big weekend for me!

Off to Keswick on Sunday, staying at the Keswick Country House Hotel to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary (where have all those years gone).

Because of unsettled weather, will be doing lots of bus journeys to various lakes ( Buttermere, Ulswater, Grasmere and Crummock water), with of course creamed scones around 11 am.

I still feel like I’m 21 though! My psychiatrist always agrees with me.

Hello @Hart86 Thanks very much. Lot of the organisation is because of my illness.

Having a mental illness means how am I today.  If I am good then make food for the freezer or fridge.

I have no one to rely on use the diary add a planner. Done this for around a very long time.

With out a structure falls apart the day the systems I have set up.  Have failsafe and backup systems all the time.

For example forgetful memory so have post it notes every where. Another one. We have all done this run of loo roll or tissues or bin bags.

    Products for cleaning. Another one.

So always buy these in bulk save money either on line or look for offers supermarkets.

Have to. Having anxiety some days really bad depression. Reason I love the community here is to pass on these tricks, tips and time savers to you all.

By the way you can get a lot of the advice from your wellbeing community health unit who runs lots of courses to benefit your wellbeing, health.

    Very informative, useful.

I use a pan found on AMAZON  another excellent thing I have done.  Signed up to PRIME for £7.99 a month get lots of ideas and time savers.

New grill pan has three compartments one for grilling Sausages, Black pudding anything like that Bacon.

Other two for either Eggs scrambled omelettes do that every time.  Use two Eggs. Milk and my Egg spice mix.

Bake Beans create my own.  Buy Beans many in water add any tomato sauce you have in the fridge. I do all the time. So helps to use that up.

In every Culture have a Breakfast with beans we use Bake Beans. In other countries use Black Beans or other like Pinto.

Add in spices to your taste.  Chilli and Spices are used to help digestion.

I buy some with spices already in.   Mixed ones . Beans are low in fat help with digestion, plus associated problems. Good for low blood pressure helps with energy.

Also helps to fill you up. Something I know am an advocate of what budgets are tight.

Add to that Eggs all the worlds Breakfast most of them love Eggs.  Or contain Sausages in one form or another it is buying the right kind of Sausages.

In my case Chicken ones or Pork spicy with more than 70 or 80 % sausage content.  Some or not.

Buy rubbish Sausages meal be terrible.  Do not mind spending on my Breakfast .  This is the good start to the day.

Does not have to be expensive.  Have and do eat Cereal usually midweek but make must share. My own or buy one with a low sugar content.

Some supermarkets have muesli with nuts, seeds, dried fruit great but watch the sugar, and salt content frightening.  Some others.

If not Cereal use Bread have Beans on Toast or Poached or Scrambled Eggs with Bacon smoked grilled.

Hope that has given some inspiration and helped answer your question.

    Pleasure to talk to you.

Please can I ask what do you like for a breakfast?

    Take care.

That sounds amazing @CockneyRebel!!! What an awesome thing to do!! I left home with very little in the way of life skills, they’re not passed down like they used to be, and schools have dropped them too which is such a shame.
I still don’t know how to change a fuse or a plug (let alone the other stuff you mentioned!) and rely heavily on internet tutorials for most things!! ?

I saw on Good Morning Britain recently that a massive percentage of “millennials” admitted that they would hire someone to change a lightbulb for them as they didn’t know how. It’s sad how society has changed. Really love the sound of your workshops!!
It’s interesting you are talking about life skills. I loved learning life skills when I was a child. Among other things covered in the sessions, I was safely taught how to use a iron, how to cook, how to sort out a first aid box etc. I also learned about inappropriate and safe relationships, sex education, how to contact emergency services.
My mom also spent time teaching me how to carry out simple repairs, street safety, the importance of laundry etc. It seems that most people today would call in someone else to do the task for them instead. One more thing I had to learn was map reading. My mom also made me solve problems myself and instilled in me the importance of communication and teamwork skills too.

    @Hart86

The two parties were birthday parties for my wife's friends. My Father's Day treat was a massive roast dinner followed by a Jaffa Cake Cheesecake!!! My daughter bought it out of her pocket money too.

It was really nice. Roast potatoes are my weakness!!! I think I'm getting too old for two parties in one night @Hart86:D

Hi @Hart86, yes I write a public blog at www.chloetear.co.uk
I write about my experiences of having cerebral palsy and being partially sighted. Until recently it was under the name of Life as a Cerebral Palsy Student as I documented my educational journey from GCSE's to university :)
    I'm sure you'd write a great blog!

How many of the Harry Potter movies did you make it through in the end @Hart86?
And how did the test drive go @Poppy123456?

We are going to a family fun day at a local college this Saturday. The kids will love it and so will I. There will be lots to do and see. I’m hoping to be able to see over the place and ask questions too.
