Nursing Support for UK Visitors

Hello! I’m hoping someone might have some personal experience to help me out. I rang Scope and they suggested posting here for a solution.

I have a Japanese friend visiting the UK in September. She’s hoping to stay in London for a few days at the end of her visit. She needs help with a catheter twice a day in the morning and night. She has nursing support in place for the rest of her stay but not London.

How do I go about finding that for her? I’d kind of hoped there would be a more obvious solution for disabled visitors to the UK, but the available info for tourists seems to be almost entirely about access issues rather than nursing support.

She understands she may need to pay and she’d like them to come to the hotel if possible. That way she can spend more time enjoying London rather than hanging around surgeries, etc. She speaks English.

I’d be most grateful for advice here.

    Hi @patrickknill

    A very warm welcome.

Try Googling hotel postcode, with “nursing agency” and see what comes up.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi @patrickknill and welcome to the community!

Here is an agency directory for nursing care which you may find helpful. It may be worth giving some of them a ring to see if they would be able to accommodate your friends needs :)
