Success with PIP

So I have recently been awarded standard rate daily living and mobility PIP.
I found the whole process very odd. I applied for PIP in Sept 2018. I missed both f2f they sent me to. I thought they would cancel the claim. However they didn’t cancel the claim they wrote and offered a home visit. I did not request a home visit.

Anyway had the F2F at home 5 weeks ago and got the award today??

I applied for PIP in sept 2018. I was given an appointment for a f2f twice at an assessment centre. I missed both appointments and thought they would cancel the claim. I was surprised when they then sent out an appointment for a f2f at my home.

I had f2f 5 weeks ago at home and was awarded standard rate daily living and standard rate mobility.

So success does happen. I still find it strange that they did not cancel the claim when I missed the appointments.

Has anyone here had a similar experience?

Hello @Jimbo61, it is quite unusual to miss two appointments and still be offered a third without any trouble, they must have accepted you had good reason to miss them.

Really pleased to hear it all went smoothly for you, thank you for sharing! :)

@Adrian_Scope, I was very surprised too. My anxiety was so bad I didn’t even contact them regarding missing the first two appointment’s. So I was shocked when the claim continued and a home visit offered.
