Statement of reasons

nikkifnikkif Member Posts: 47 Courageous
Hi all just wondering if I should call to ask for a statement of reasons. I win my appeal on friday and recueved the letter from tribunal confirming yesterday but it just gives the new scores. Is the sor done by appeal panel for why they overturned decision or is it what the dwp have to do to appeal their decision. I'm so confused. Just want to make sure that I have every bit of paperwork that I may need for the future.

Personally I would leave things the way they are they overturned the decision as they were wrong in the first time.
Keep all information for the future.
    Hope this helps.

All parties have the right to request a statement of reasons and record of proceedings.

The first document is only written if you request it. The second document is the judges handwritten record and already exists. There’s nothing to stop you requesting it and at this stage, for all you know, DWP may have requested them anyway to look at the possibility of a challenge.

It won’t impact anything to ask but it’s not good practice to request if you don’t intend challenging the decision.
