Reasonable adjustments for hospital appointments within the workplace

My employers know about my disabilities and have carried out a occupational health referal due to it. Do they have to allow me to swap my shifts due to having a hospital appointment? If so does anyone know what written document says so?

That's great that they have done the referral - I hope that helps. In terms of swapping shifts, your employer should see this as a reasonable adjustment. This is something you could bring up at the OT assessment, but may also be worth mentioning to your boss.

Hi most employees allow time off to attend appointments with consultants or hospitals however doctors or dentist are encouraged to be made out of working hour. They are not obliged to pay you for attending but you should be allowed to take it unpaid or make the time up.
Your employer should have a policy stating what they do and usually this is also covered in your handbook. Speak to your manager or hr dept for advice . -

You can get advice on reasonable adjustments from the Disability Employment Adviser (DEA) at your local Jobcentre Plus office.
You can also apply for Access to Work if you need extra help.
