Spam emails

I created an email address to register on this and one other disability forum.
Has anyone else started receiving spam emails to a unique email address?

Hi @GettinOlde. Who's the email address with?Community Manager
Scope -
You mean who was it from? I don't know, it was some advert, can't remember what for, in my spam folder that I deleted immediately and anything deleted from the spam folder is gone for good and can't be found in the trash bin.

Oh, it wasn't directly from Scope, I know that much, but I have fallen victim to email 'harvesting' before.

Sorry @GettinOlde. I meant the provider - Gmail, Outlook etc.Community Manager

In any case, report the emails to the provider Yahoo, Microsoft, Google etc.

I lied, well, not intentionally, but the spam email is still in my spam folder, I hadn't actually deleted it.
Keranique for Women <get.krvtn42909@0mabjnen21339s.w13f1-a4a5.ivg8ipjx.ml>
and just had anotherVIVINTPremierProvider <offer.vvnt42900@72aa0q96r1joil.w129f-b2ea.oeqnvfez.ga>
It's not so much the fact that it's spam but how they got my email address in the first place. It could be just sheer coincidence that they've managed to randomly come up with mine, but I have several Google email addresses and none of the others have caught this.

There`s a very funny TED TALKS on youtube, by a comedian......whose surname is Veitch, I think. It`s a great story about how he dealt with a spam email..worth watching.

One tip I would like to add is you can use temporary throw away email address to help minimise spam/unwanted marketing to your permanent email address. Examples of using this can be:
Signing up for a forum you are not sure about, or simply do not look to be using regularly. you can use this to activate your user login.
If you download some software sometimes they insist you enter your email address first, you can use this to get a download link.
Here is an example below, there are others if you google temporary email addresses.

Thanks for all the input and advice everyone.I have no problems dealing with spam, I have even registered my own domain name and have access to unlimited email addresses like anything.here@mydomain.com, but like a say, I created a Gmail address specifically to register here and another disability forum and for online storage and ease of posting images and videos - and Gmail has very good filters for flagging spam. It's just odd that this one Gmail address has started receiving spam that none of my others has.Resident joker - not to be taken too seriously ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
