Just airing my frustration - was called on the Wednesday, no message left from DWP, called back as wondered who it was as unable to get to the phone in time and no message left. Asked if I was if I was available on the following Monday for an assessment at home. said I was volunteering that morning do you have one later in the week, whilst operator was looking appointment was taken by someone else rather than keeping it open its now gone, have to wait for a letter and availability for another date and time, no eta given. Phone call was handled by a robot handler. We wait for the letter..........It continues.......

Had PIP assessment at home yesterday - will know the result within 6-8 weeks time. 1 1/5 hours it took - positive it was carried out at home!

Wait a week after the assessment and ring DWP for a copy of the report to be sent to you. This will give you some idea what the decision is likely to be because they mostly go with the report.

Decision waiting times vary in all areas and can be anything from 2-8 weeks, sometimes longer. There's really no timescales to decisions.

Thanks for the advice although phoning the DWP is very difficult, I tried to phone them once over 3 days, early, during the day at various times, it took over 3 hrs on hold. I'll see what they come up with first as its just painful trying to get through, even with 2 phones on hold!!! I'm looking for work maybe they should recruit more staff !

Hi @LindaButler1970, I cannot imagine how frustrating this is! Being on hold for that long must be very annoying! I really hope you manage to get a date soon. :)

Its just the way things are with the red tape nature of government! What is more frustrating for me is that I still wish to work. I had 3 interviews last week and still not making the pass over the last hurdle. I shall keep at it as I'm very determined and will try my hardest to get something. I think that because I wish to work part time this does go against me, which I am finding.  :)

You certainly do sound determined! Have you ever looked at Scope's employment services? They might be able to offer some support and guidance that could help get you back into work. :)

I don't need the support so much just a job would be great, thanks for the support.

PIP decision received, not a good outcome so will appeal!

I'm really sorry @LindaButler1970. As you're probably already aware, the first stage for the appeal will be a Mandatory Reconsideration and we have some information about those here.
