PIP assessment
Hello everyone,
I have suffered from severe depression most of my adult life (now 53). I have 2 or 3 or 4 bad days a week. I have just had a PIP assessment and have been refused, with zero points on every section. The explanations all state that I seemed fine when interviewed by an assessor. I stated numerous times in my application that I have good days and bad days, but they have only considered the one good day.
I have a doctor’s report, and a report from the psychiatric hospital I attend.
I am now going to ask for a re-consideration. Then I shall appeal.
I was confident I would be awarded PIP, but got all zeros. They are stopping my DLA in two weeks. Does not seem right.
I know you can’t say with certainty, but do you think I have a good case for appeal?
Thanks,
Evan.

Hi,No one can tell you whether you'll successfully be awarded PIP because no one knows exactly how your conditions affect you.For PIP you must be affected at least 50% of the time over a 12 month period and if your conditions affect you 2/3 days per week then this isn't at least 50% of the time. When you request the MR you should put this in writing stating where you think you should have scored those points and your reasons why. Adding 2-3 examples of what happened the last time you attempted that activity for each descriptor that applies to you.I would advise you to get some face to face advice from an agency near you. This link will help you find what's local to you.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Ok. Thanks everyone.
