Esa change of cir umstances

Hi I'm moving soon I'm on the old esa I've heard ile have to go on uc is this right

    Hi,

    A little more information is needed to be able to help you further. Are you moving to a different local council or staying with the same one?

    If you're moving to a different local council do you currently claim severe disability premium in with your ESA? To claim the SDP you must be claiming a qualifying benefit such as PIP daily living or DLA mid/high rate care, no one must be claiming carers allowance for looking after you and you must live alone or be classed as living alone.

    Then this isn't classed as a change of circumstances that will prompt a move to UC, you will stay on your existing benefits.

    Hi @laney1970. As long as you are staying within the same council and are not moving in with a partner/needing to make a joint claim then this isn't a change of circumstances that will trigger a switch to Universal Credit. :)
