Will my benefit change due to wifes higher rate of pips

We just won our hearing / appeal and my wife has been awarded a higher rate of pips than previously . She is now worried i will owe income support or carers back as i may have been overpayed . Basically will her increased rate affect my income support or carers allowance . All the best

I was just wondering why you felt you had been overpaid? A higher award in PIP will not have a negative affect on carers allowance or income support. I hope this helps.

HI Chloe , my wife gets very concerned about these things , she thought her having been awarded a higher rate than before meant my carers /Income support would be reduced and as the award is being back payed i would end up owing money back .

I'm sorry it's still causing you and your wife worry though. As Chloe said, PIP is disregarded as income by Income Support so you won't owe any back. Community Manager
