Hi scope people
I'm looking for some support regarding my experience with doctors. Has anyone else found that some doctors are just awful and very rude for no good reason? I've had a doctor that I've made a complaint about because the behaviour was bad when I did something on the advice of my gp. I made a complaint to the local health board and all they did was say 'best wishes for the future'
They are trying to paint me as a complainer when I'm not, I'm someone who is very grateful for the care and services they receive. I just won't put up with someone being an **** while carrying out that care and services.
Anyone else found the same with doctors? It's enough to make me never want to go again, but I realise its important I go for my health to get the best care for me. Can you offer any advice on how best to deal with this?
Is this something that often happens to the chronically sick/disabled?

Hello, I like you and everybody else have good and bad days things going on worries and concerns that they have to carry around with then and still try and do their job without sharing their emotions and their own problems ect. So just may be your GP was having one of those days like we all have from time to time, after all, we are all human.

Hi @April2018mom I have. I don't think anything is going to change.

Hi @Birdsnbees, I'm sorry you experienced this. It cannot have been nice at all and you don't deserve that! Did you complain through PALS? Here is some information about taking a complain higher if this is what you'd like to do.

Some Doctors are awful. When I was younger my Doctor used to give me a lecture and threaten me and told me I was swinging the lead. My mum complained and found out other people had this problem with him. I believe they retired him early because of all the complaints.

@Cressida its not my gp its a consultant.

I'm not sure if someone else at the unit can carry out my care.

Flat on my back hospitalised and discharged to GP, GP wouldn’t do anything and I moved to new surgery- like night and day in getting to see specialists etc.

My current above issue is with the person at a unit providing further care and apossibly carrying out another operation. I need another operation done and it's this guy that's been bullying me and trying to make my care difficult that is at the moment due to do it. Everytime I've tried asking him logical and fair questions about my care he gets angry and makes out to others I'm not keeping busy enough nor working enough. Irrespective of what I was doing I would still have the same questions and be just as concerned about my care. Thanks for the advice above. I have investigated getting an advocate to help me with this and I think I will ask if my care can be transferred to someone else and if someone else can carry out the op. If someone not within that unit, maybe someone at a nearby one. -
@Birdsnbees. Sorry I thought you meant GP.
Advice is still the same ask your GP for referral to another unit and a different consultant. You can do that now. Your relationship with your present consultant is obviously impossible for both of you. The consultant will have been told of your complaint so for the benefit of you both it would be easier to change. Alternatively ask for a nurse to be present during consultations if you feel bullied.

It does matter and we cannot hope for all medical professionals to understand, my GP didn’t believe Autism existed and therefore happy to kick me to long grass.
I changed GP’s and the new one was superb, don’t suffer or carry on with a healthcare professional who we both know will spin a narrative and the people he works with are unlikely to stick their heads above parapet to side with you.
CHANGE to another Practice or hospital -
thanks for the comments both @WhileIBreathIHope and @Cressida
the trouble is this guy is a specalist in his field. i have come up with a plan and we will see what happens. if doesn't work or cant do I will ask my gp to kindly refer to another unit slightly out of town with a different specalist. i've been waiting a long time for this treatment and its a bum for this to happen but at the end of the day i'm not going to be put through abused just so i can get treatment
