Back pay from pip

Good morning. Looking for advice as I don't understand the dwp. I'm on uc as well as pip. I've just recieved a back payment from dwp after appeal regarding my pip. My wife works which affects my uc wich I receive due to my disability. Question is will this back pay affect my uc and do I need to notify them of the payment.

    Hi,

    Your PIP payment will not affect your UC because PIP isn't means tested. The backdated money won't affect it either because it's backdated money. If it's more than £6,000 or it takes your savings over £6,000 then it's disregarded for 1 year. No, you don't need to notify about the payment. UC is part of DWP like PIP.
