I’m a home care for my partner who is over weight and has lost 1 leg to diabetes and her good leg has an ulcerated heal so has her heal dressings changed regularly by the district nurse.
I do most things for her and we have just moved to a bungalow. It’s been an expensive time. She really need a new riser recliner chair to get her up from the chair. But can’t afford one is there anywhere I could get funding for one as you can’t get them on the NHS?

Hi @NormHowe and welcome to the community! It might be worth a try speaking to an occupational therapistDisability Gamechanger - 2019

I have spoken to Occupstional Therapist and although they are very helpful they wont supply a riser recliner chair. I have checked out ebay and got a couple from there but the trouble with 2nd hand you don’t know how long they will last. Also with eBay it collecting them. We finally got a bungalow after being on the waiting list for 3 years and only having a limited space for a chair. Now where in a new place we really wanted a new chair but it’s affording it with all we had to pay out to move.

Hi @NormHowe - Welcome to this community. I don't know price-wise how this site compares, but one asset is that you can get a riser recliner chair without having to pay VAT. I have used them personally, but for much lower priced things. They do, however, have small versions of these chairs, so worth having a look perhaps. See: https://www.completecareshop.co.uk/chairs-and-seating/petite-riser-recliner-chairs/ They come with free delivery.

I found a suitable chair on Amazon as my Mrs is a big lady and needs a chair with a wide width the only trouble is this means that they are expensive and they want payment straight away. But when you don’t have the money what am I supposed to do? She needs the chair now as the chair she is in is too small and causes her pain and discomfort as she only has one leg after diabetes took the other. All she can do is sit around a lot so needs a comfy chair. The turn2us website is useful but it only comes up with only 3 charities that might be able to help. But only one that would be able to help but even this you would have to apply and they only consider applications annually.
