The DWP have asked the appeal judge for a correction but won't give me any details. Surely I am entitled to be kept fully informed. Appeal was Dec 5 and the letter was sent to Judge Jan 9th, isn't that outside the 28 day limit?

    HI and welcome,

I'm one of the community champions here on scope.

It's a correction they've asked for and not a statement of reasons so the 1 month doesn't apply here. Unfortunately, no they don't have to keep you informed.

To me it sounds like there's a mistake somewhere, are the dates on the Tribunal decision letter correct? Sometimes there's a mistake with the date, if this has happened then DWP can't pay you what you're owed until the error has been corrected.

Hopefully it won't be too long. Backdated money can take 8 weeks sometimes longer and with Christmas and New year closing days, it will have increased all the backlogs.
