pip review assessment yesterday

Hi I’m new to all this, but just wondered if anyone had a similar experience,I had my pip review assessment yesterday and could barely sleep worrying last night! I have only been claiming pip since aug 2018 so was surprised I had to have another f2f so soon especially as had lots of medical info. The capita lady wasn’t like the last one she wouldn’t engage with me at all and I felt try to get me to say what she wanted. I manage to work part time and she asked what did I do for lunch? What breaks do I have, how many hours a day do I work? There is no place on the pip form about work so I can only assume she was trying to disprove what me and my consultant have said! I feel it’s going to be a long wait finding out.

    HI and welcome,

I'm one of the community champions here on scope and i'm here to help and advise others.

Your length of award will determine when to expect a review and reviews usually take place 6 months before the award is due to end. Most people have face to face assessments even for reviews.

Although people do claim PIP and work, if the work you do contradicts the reasons why you're claiming PIP then it can go against you.

At moment it's impossible to predict what the decision could be. Wait a week and ring DWP to request a copy of the assessment report. This will give you some idea what the decision is likely to be because they mostly go with the report. When you receive it look for the dots next to the descriptors/activities and use the PIP descriptors online to see what scored may have been recommended.

If you're not happy with the decision you'll have 1 month from that date to request the Mandatory reconsideration (MR) Good luck.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Ok thank you. I am office and desk based and did say I have been given another specialist chair as well as a headset,I did feel the assessor was trying to put words in my mouth, but will have to wait and see!

Hi @Deffy19 - & welcome to the community from me too. I'm sorry your PIP review f2f has caused you stress; at least it's over & done with; I found waiting for my first PIP assessment was the worst part! I see you've had some good advice from my friend Poppy, & please would you let us know when you get the copy of your assessment. I hope you get a better night's sleep tonight. :)

    Hiya,
I have sciatica at present so sleep is a bit difficult! I received the text today to say they have the report now but could be upto 6 weeks before I hear, I phoned DWP to make a note that I saw the consultant yesterday and am booked in for a transforminal epidural on 17th, so I wanted the decision maker to know there was further evidence!

Hi its been 9 weeks since my review assessment and I still haven't heard anything. I know they are suspending reviews who haven't heard, but my pip is due to end in May, not sure what to do as I can't get through on the phone. Is anyone else waiting?

There could be further delays because of Covid19 so it could be quite a while before a decision's made. If a decision hasn't been made before your award is due to end they should extend your award because of Covid19 so that all claimants will continue to have financial support during this difficult time.
