Hi all, new to the forum so apologies if I am posting incorrectly or in the wrong place.
I have been advised that reviews of PIP awards are taking place owing to a change in the law regarding the Mobility descriptors and mental health issues.
I suffer from PTSD which means I have adverse reactions if I come into contact with anyone I know to me and Agoraphobia which means I am unable to go outside, suffering panic attacks, vomiting, fainting and have had dissociative episodes when I have had to.
Therefore I find the descriptors in the Mobility section, ambiguous especially 12. Whilst I physically can walk and move unaided, this is very much dependent on the situation. Inside my home, I am able however, outside or in a situation I’m not comfortable in, I would not be able to as I would suffer panic attacks, fainting, vomiting, dissociating etc. all of which have happened when made to leave my home.
Therefore I am unsure if I should request reassessment so any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What award do you have now? seeking a re-assessment can sometimes put your award at risk, if the DWP is looking at some awards again wait till they contact you is my best advice2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

Hi,I think you're talking about the changes that took place for the following and planning a journey activity. They are looking at all awards that were given after 28th November 2016. No assessment is needed, they just look at all your evidence, the form and the assessment report and make a decision from there. They are in the process of doing this but because there's approximately 1.6 million claims to look through it can take some time. Once a decision's been made they will send a decision letter to you. There's no need to contact them in the meantime.
